I hope you had a great summer! I definitely did. I spent four days in Brian Head, UT over the 4th of July. They had an awesome fireworks show! Then I went to Indiana to visit my mom, brother, cousins, and their families. We also went to Kentucky to visit my sister. While I was in Vegas, I spent a lot of time reading books and swimming in the pool. What did you do this summer?

In the story Boomtown, Amanda made more money selling pies than her father did mining for gold. She then convinced other people to start businesses and helped turn her boring town into a boom town. If you moved to Amanda’s town, what business would you start? Write a topic sentence telling what your business would be. (Think about what you are good and and what you like to do. Think about what the town needed.) Then write three sentences giving details about how and why you would start that business. Finally, don’t forget to wrap it up with a closing sentence!
